Drug of Abuse Test Methods

There are three common drug abuse tests: urine testing, saliva testing and blood testing. Urine testing of DOA has more applications than saliva testing or blood testing.

DOA Urine test

Urine testing is usually done using drug of abuse test strips, which operate on a similar principle to pregnancy test strips. It is easy to carry and easy to use. Drug test paper is currently widely used in drug rehabilitation hospitals, individual drug users and public security departments.

The longest validity period of the urine test is 7 days, and the best time to test is within three or four days after taking drugs. Therefore, if a drug addict takes drugs 7 days ago, his urine test may be negative, and it cannot be detected that he has taken drugs.
Saliva testing

DOA Saliva testing is fast, convenient, and easy to be accepted by the subjects. It is better than urine testing, and it is not limited by the location. However, saliva testing is easily affected by strong-tasting foods, chewing gum, cigarettes, etc., resulting in inaccurate test results.

DOA Blood test

Although blood testing is much more professional than the former two, if the blood cannot be tested for a long time after blood collection, the sample may not be used.

Blood tests are more time-sensitive than the former two, making up for some of their shortcomings. However, the drug components in the blood are metabolized quickly, and the cost of blood testing is high. Generally, drug rehabilitation hospitals do not have blood testing equipment. Traffic police often use blood tests to finally confirm drunk driving, drunk driving, and drug driving.

DOA Hair detection

Blood and body fluid tests have high requirements for timeliness, but about seven days after taking drugs, the drug components contained in the body are basically metabolized, and it is meaningless to do this kind of test again. At this time, if you want to judge whether the examiner is taking drugs, you need to detect the drug components in his body through hair.

Compared with traditional blood and urine tests, hair test has incomparable unique advantages, such as long test time, comprehensive drug information, and easy collection, storage, and repeated sampling of samples. Most importantly, testers can reflect their drug use from weeks to months based on the length of their hair.

The applicability of hair detection is more extensive. When many people hear hair detection, they think that hair is used for detection. In fact, we can apply hair detection to any part of the body, which increases the sampling. range, which is easier to collect.

It is understood that hair dyeing and perm cannot affect the hair detection, and it is almost impossible to use these methods to affect the detection results.

In summary, urine, saliva (in fact, sweat is the same), and blood tests are suitable for short-term testing, while hair is suitable for long-term testing.

As the latest detection method, hair detection is not widely used. The combination of hair detection, urine detection, saliva detection and blood detection will greatly improve the reliability of drug detection, and the detection results are also extremely accurate. It can detect not only whether there are drugs in the body, but also the type of drugs of abuse.
